John C. Boyd Literacy Foundation

Last updated: October 21, 2026

John C. Boyd Literacy Foundation (JCB LIT, we, us, or our) operates jcblit.com. This policy explains how we handle information from visitors to our public website and people who contact us or request meetings through its contact links. It covers website visits and business inquiries about our literacy services.

Information you provide

When you email us, call us, leave a voicemail, or book a meeting, we receive the information you provide. This may include your name, email address, phone number, organization, role, appointment details, and the contents of your messages. You choose what to include in an inquiry. Please avoid sending student records, financial account details, or other sensitive information through general email or meeting-booking fields.

Website data and analytics

Our hosting and website infrastructure providers process technical information when you visit, such as IP addresses, request times, pages requested, referring pages, and browser or device information. This processing helps deliver the website, maintain security, and troubleshoot problems.

The website includes Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page performance. Cloudflare states that this analytics service does not use cookies or local browser storage and does not fingerprint visitors. Other hosting, security, or scheduling features may use cookies or similar technologies where needed for their functions. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; blocking them may affect some features.

How we use information

We use information to respond to inquiries, arrange meetings, discuss and plan literacy services, follow up on conversations, maintain business records, improve website reliability, and protect against misuse. You can ask us to stop optional promotional communications at any time.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent personal information or share it for other companies' independent marketing. We share information with authorized team members and service providers as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Our current tools include:

Namecheap and Sitejet for website hosting and website management.

Cloudflare for website delivery, security, and analytics.

Microsoft 365, including Bookings, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive, for scheduling, communications, meetings, and business records.

Grasshopper for business telephone service.

We may also disclose information at your direction, to comply with legal obligations or lawful requests, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety or prevent fraud and abuse.

Meetings and outside websites

Our booking buttons open a Microsoft-hosted scheduling page. Information you enter there is processed by Microsoft and made available to us to manage the appointment. Providers also handle information under their applicable terms and privacy notices. Other websites linked from our site have their own practices. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including business recordkeeping and legal obligations. Retention varies with the information, its purpose, and applicable requirements. We delete or deidentify information when it is no longer needed, subject to necessary backup and recordkeeping processes.

We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices and requests

You may contact [email protected] to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We handle requests subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping needs. Additional privacy rights may apply depending on where you live.

Children and student information

This public website and its business inquiry and meeting-booking features are intended for adults. Children should not submit personal information through these channels. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the situation and address it appropriately.

This policy does not describe student accounts, learning platforms, assessments, or student recordings. Before collecting information for those services, we will provide privacy information and any required permissions specific to the service.
